Terms of use

The agreement between you and Passit for using Passit Plus Level 3 Calculus. We have tried to keep it short and plain. If something is unclear, ask us.

Last updated 31 October 2026.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Passit Limited (NZ company number 9448754, NZBN 9429053858184), trading as Passit Plus ("Passit", "we", "us"), an independent education company based in Auckland. We are not NZQA, the Ministry of Education or your school.

They apply to the Passit Plus Level 3 Calculus app at app.passit.cc (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

2. This app is its own product

Your account here is separate from any account on passitplus.co.nz or any other Passit product. Paying for one does not give access to another, and we do not combine your information across them.

3. What the app does

It gives practice for three NCEA Level 3 Calculus external standards: AS91577 Complex numbers, AS91578 Differentiation and AS91579 Integration. That includes practice questions from Achieved to Excellence, answer checking, hints, methods and worked solutions, timed practice papers, and progress and readiness estimates.

Questions are based on published NZQA achievement criteria. Passit is an independent preparation tool and is not affiliated with NZQA or the Ministry of Education.

Practice marks, practice paper grades and readiness estimates are study guidance only. They are not NCEA results. Only NZQA and your school award NCEA credits and grades.

4. Who can use it

The app is for secondary school students preparing for NCEA Level 3 Calculus. The student is the account holder, and the account and its information belong to the student.

If you are under 18 and want to buy the pass, please talk to a parent, caregiver or whānau member first. They can pay on your device.

5. Your account

You sign in with a link we email you, or with a personal or school Google or Microsoft account; there is no Passit password. You can link one personal and one school account to your Passit account, and unlink them in More.

Each account is for one person: don't share it, and keep your email, Google and Microsoft accounts secure, because anyone who can get into them can sign in to Passit.

Tell us straight away at help@passit.cc if you think someone else has used your account.

6. Free questions and the pass

  • Free: the first 3 questions in every skill, and one sample practice paper for each standard.
  • The Level 3 Calculus Pass 2026: every question, hint, method, worked solution and practice paper in the three standards, until the end of 31 March 2027 (New Zealand time). The price is shown on the pass page (currently $14.99 NZD, including GST).
  • It is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and it does not renew.
  • Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We may change prices for future purchases, but never for a pass you have already bought.
  • A pass belongs to the account it was bought for and can't be moved to another account.

7. Refunds and your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Our refund policy explains how refunds work. In short: if the app doesn't meet a consumer guarantee, we will fix the problem or refund you where the law says we must; we don't give refunds for a change of mind; and a full refund ends the pass.

If you buy the app for a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, to the extent the law allows.

8. How questions are made and marked

Questions on Passit are generated by AI and marked against NZQA rubric criteria. In this app, every answer is checked against a fixed answer key by computer algebra: the same answer always gets the same mark. Only your final answer is marked, not your working. Our AI transparency statement explains this in full.

Mistakes are possible. Use your own judgement, check important points with your teacher, and use "Report a problem" on any question, or email help@passit.cc, if something looks wrong.

9. How our content changes

We add and improve questions over time. Once students have answered a question, we don't edit it: if we find an error, we retire it and add a corrected one. Your past marks stay as they were.

10. Using Passit fairly

You agree not to:

  • use the app to cheat in any official assessment, or hand in Passit questions or solutions as your own work for school assessment;
  • share your account, or get into another person's account or information without permission;
  • copy, scrape, download, share publicly or sell our questions, solutions or other content;
  • use bots, crawlers or other automated tools to access the app, or use its content to train or fine-tune AI models;
  • interfere with or overload the app, try to get around its security or paywall, or reverse engineer it; or
  • use the app in any way that breaks New Zealand law.

11. Who owns what

The app, including its questions, solutions, software, branding and design, is owned by or licensed to Passit and protected by New Zealand and international intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it for your own study while your account is open.

All Passit practice questions are written for Passit. They are not copied from NZQA examination papers, assessment schedules or exemplars, and we check the bank against NZQA's published papers.

You own the answers you type. You let us store and process them to run the app, and to use them in de-identified form (so they no longer identify you) to improve it.

12. Results and availability

We aim to help you prepare well, but we do not guarantee any NCEA result, grade, credit or outcome.

We work to keep the app running and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or events outside our control. We may change or stop features. If we permanently stop providing the pass before it is due to end, we will give a pro-rata refund for the time left.

13. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Privacy Act 2020 or any other law that can't be excluded.

Subject to that, and as far as the law allows: (a) we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity or exam results; and (b) our total responsibility to you for anything to do with the app is limited to the greater of $100 NZD or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to loss caused by our fraud or deliberate wrongdoing.

14. Closing and deleting accounts

You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account yourself in More → Delete my account. Our privacy policy explains what we delete and what the law says we must keep, such as payment records.

We may delete accounts that haven't been signed in to for 24 months. We may suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, to protect students or the app, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and explain why. If we close an account because these terms were broken, the pass ends and no refund is due, except where the law requires one.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. We will post the new terms here and change the date. If a change is significant, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. A change will not take away a pass you have already bought. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the app and delete your account.

16. New Zealand law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and New Zealand courts and tribunals, including the Disputes Tribunal, can deal with any dispute. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
